by Reid on July 23, 2016

Multi Cultural AgreementHow can you build connection and engagement with your list?

Tip #2, With Reid Mihalko from ReidAboutSex.com and Cathy Vartuli from TheIntimacyDojo.com.

Reid: Part two of a three part video series. Go.

Cathy: How do you engage with your list and make your business … The people that interact with your business feel loved and excited about what you’re offering. Now we’re at tip number 2.

Reid: This is a business advice video, because we happen to be business geeks. If you’re looking for relationship advice, it’s actually kind of snuck in here.

Cathy: Yeah. You can actually use this with your coworkers, your partner, your family.

Reid: Doesn’t work on your cats and dogs in the same way though.

Cathy: I’m Cathy Vartuli from TheIntimacyDojo.com.

Reid: I’m Reid Mihalko from ReidAboutSex.com. It definitely doesn’t work on pet snakes, turtles or goldfish.

Cathy: Thank you for the disclaimer.

Reid: It’s important.

Cathy: Again, we were thinking about you and we made this video for you. Just so you can see a little bit of how … Notice how you feel when you read things or hear things and pull them out for what you’re doing. Not word for word, but the general idea of it.

We do appreciate that you’re taking the time out of your day to learn those and make a better impact on the world. The number two way you can connect with people more deeply is by telling them how they’re going to make a difference for themselves, personally and for the world outside of them.

If you’re just focused on how they’re going to help themselves, they may feel really selfish. They may feel awkward about investing the money or the time doing what they’re doing. If you just focus on the outside stuff, they’re going to feel depleted and like, “Oh, I’ve got to sacrifice again.”

If you can figure out how, whatever you’re offering or teaching will help them be better inside, internally, and effect the outside world. Their partner will be happier, their boss will be happier. Their community and the world will be better, if you mix those two. If you alternate those, people feel really happy and feel very content to spend the time and actually eager to show up.

Reid: And they have a context of the inner and the outer, or what Brendon Burchard, who is somebody that we love as a mentor, is their intrinsic and extrinsic benefits. Just watching videos like these, will start to get you thinking about business in a different way, so that you feel more competent and have more confidence when you’re trying to reach your customers.

Your customers will feel like you’re touching their lives in different ways and in more powerful ways, so they’ll feel more engaged and connected, and excited about your emails. Then, your friends and your family will read your emails because they’re just like, “Oh my God, I have to read this email again.”

Then they’re like, “Oh my goodness. It sounds so professional. They’re speaking to me through this email. They must be really good at their business.” Then all of a sudden, your friends and your family will actually think that you’re good at what you do. They won’t tease you so much at Thanksgiving. Those are the examples. The intrinsics and extrinsic benefits.

Cathy: Whenever you have good information, we’ve all had a teacher that was teaching the amazing stuff that was boring as hell and it was really hard to let it into our brains. If you code it with examples of, “Remember that you’re doing a really great job doing this, that I’m doing this because I care about you. This is how you’re going to be better inside and outside.”

If you sprinkle that throughout your email, your videos, your audios, however you interact with them; in your sales pitch too. They are going to let the information in in a new way. As long as you’re very genuine about that, they’ll know that and they’ll feel really cared about and very enthusiastic.

Reid: Use these tips and tools for good.

Cathy: Yes.

Reid: Never for evil.

Cathy: Yeah…

Reid: Don’t use it for evil. It will come back and bite you in the ass, and not in a good way.

Cathy: Yes. Not the fun way.

Reid: Comments. What did you learn from this video and then, video number three.

Cathy: Mm-hmm. (Affirmative)

Reid: Coming at you next.
