Attn: Sex Educators… I have some new embarrassing, business moments to share… Are you ready?
Again, I first want you to put on your promotion cap. You’ll get more ah-ha moments if you imagine you are in the driver’s seat and this is YOUR LAUNCH…
Ready, Sex Geek? Let’s get to work…
In re-watching the free Sex Geek Summer Camp launch videos, I found many things I wished I’d done better/done differently… Things you can easily learn NOT to do by just copy and pasting my experience into how you do things. Why not avoid making similar mistakes if you can, and just leap-frog to the next, more savvy and powerful level of reaching people and transforming lives, right?
And, as a teaching nerd, I already know that me teaching you what I learned only anchors the lessons for me more powerfully! And, if I allow for folks to ask questions, someone will ask something I hadn’t thought of or ask for clarity in a way that will strengthen MY GRASP of the situation… That’ll help me learn more, too!
I’ll share. You ask questions. We all get better. Everyone wins!
And the easiest way to include all those dynamics is a free webinar. (See how I used the situation to help show me what the easiest teaching delivery approach might be?)
You can attend this free webinar: Peek Behind the Curtain: What We learned from 3 Camp Launches, starting at 6pm Pacific on Wednesday, June 1st, here:
Feel free to watch Video 3 below – heck, watch the whole series! – and then listen to the webinar. This way, you’ll learn better from having concrete examples in your mind. Way to go, Sex Geek! I’m proud of you…
Here are some things I noticed about Video 3:
– I didn’t start with a “tease,” a promise or question to keep people engaged and excited about what they’d learn.
– I did share my story again at 2:06 minutes in, most people don’t watch all the videos released, and by sharing where I come from and why this is important, it helps them connect.
– Sadly, soon after these were shot, I crumpled up all the post it notes I used as background in my videos, so I couldn’t reshoot sections with the same background. (It felt wonderful at the time, and it created frustration later).
– At 5:01 I share a good promise.
– And at 6:44 I think I positioned Camp well.
– I shouldn’t have promised to send another email “tomorrow,” since that makes it hard for evergreen launches when people start at different times.
-I could have shown my enthusiasm better at the end to build anticipation for the last video coming up.
What do you notice? What would you have done differently?
I’d love to hear! Please give me a shout out on Twitter at @ReidAboutSex and let me know.
Hope to see you on the webinar!
