I’m planning to go to a play party, what should I wear?
Cathy: What do I wear to a play party? This is Reid Mihalko from about https://reidaboutsex.com/
Reid: This is Cathy Vartuli from http://theintimacydojo.com/
Cathy: And a lot people wonder if what do they wear if they go to a play party
Reid: Play party being the new-fangled lingo for an orgy basically.
Cathy: Yeah and different play parties are run differently. Some are very dressed up like lingerie. Some people are very casual and a lot of years people show up in jeans and like swap heads
Reid: We don’t get super super dressed up
Cathy: There’s
Reid: ‘coz
Cathy: there some people
Reid: Because we’re gonna get naked
Cathy: Yeah
Reid: And some people bring you know their favourite underwear, some people bring you know costumes that you can have a themed
Cathy: Yeah.
Reid: play party
Cathy: Of course it’s a.. some kinky ones are very in and that they’re all oriented
Reid: Some people wear just stuff that makes them feel sexy and some people own clothes that you kind a can only really wear
Cathy: At a play party
Reid: at a play party
Cathy: Yeah. So I recommend asking the host and saying what is their theme or is there certain how do people normally dress for those?
Reid: If you’re sending out an invite to have a play party, you can let people know that, “hey here’s the theme” or “here are some suggestions for what you could wear.”
Cathy: Or wear what makes you feel sexy which is I mean some people feel sexiest in jeans and at sweat shirt and it’s okay. But there’s different play parties in different areas of the country that might have different expectations and either asking someone who’s been to one of them or the host what to wear is a good way to ease the concern you might have.
Reid: And in your invites and things like that and if you actually want more resources, you can go to https://reidaboutsex.com/playparty and sign up for resources but along with like you know what to wear, you might want to give just a really quick advice on hygiene and things like that or just make sure you hang out with community where it’s like, well I wore my fanciest dress but I haven’t bathed in three days.
Cathy: Yeah.
Reid: And again, it’s more just kind of letting in my invites, I try to give people a heads up on expectations but it also allows to.. for people be like “oh he points at these things in the invite.” So the part people coming to the party will know about these things and you want to also in your invite give people permission to really have their fun.
Cathy: Yeah.
Reid: I have people who love wearing costumes. If I never said that it was okay to wear costumes, they might be like, “oh my God am I.. am I doing too much?”
Cathy: Yeah.
Reid: And I’m like no. In my invites it says you wear wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and sexy. If you want to wear Batman costume? Go for it if if
Cathy: If themed
Reid: Yeah. If you want to just wear jeans and t-shirt and come and relax, please do.
Cathy: Yeah. And it’s.. it’s sometimes useful to ask the host if there’s a place to change because if you want to wear some lingerie it may be like you don’t want to be
Reid: You don’t want to be on the subway.
Cathy: Yeah like oh, you try to keep you clothes.
Reid: Or you might have costume changes
Cathy: Yeah.
Reid: That you want to do
Cathy: That what people do
Reid: throughout the evening
Cathy: Yeah
Reid: Or you think you might be brave enough to wear such and such but you don’t know, so you’re just going to bring it in case and those things can be really useful.
Cathy: And one of the last parties you had someone wore a dress that they really hated and ask everyone to repeal if off from her
Reid: Oh yeah that was pretty awesome.
Cathy: Yeah it’s really fun.
Reid: If you have any questions, you need resources, go to https://reidaboutsex.com/playparty
Cathy: We hope this helped!
