Sex Geek Summer Camp Testimonial Video Contest 2022
In order to tempt the educators into becoming more comfortable with shooting videos, being interviewed, and working with microphones (useful skills for educators trying to make a living on social media and perhaps creating online programs, etc., etc.), the Sex Geek Summer Camp Video Testimonial Contest was born back in 2014 at our first-ever Camp… Since the testimonials also help other educators find out about Camp and get a sense of who attends, we have proudly carried on the tradition!

Ok, Campers… Are You Ready To Rumble?! (In The Good, Very Geeky, and Collaborative Way?)
Announcing: It’s the Camp TESTIMONIAL VIDEO CONTEST! Deadline Monday June, 19th 27th 2022
We had a blast with last years’ Video Contest, and we’re upgrading the way we’re doing it this year! Cathy Vartuli from TheIntimacyDojo will be coordinating our contest.
People who participated previous years, got huge kudos and admiration from their peers, received recognition and “sex geek cred” on social media, learned new skills, and cemented new collaborations and friendships (One great way to bond with your fellow Campers is to ask them if they want to do a video with you, and, if they say yes, follow through and shoot it, and post it!).
Some of those courageous and creative souls also won FABULOUS PRIZES!
Testimonail Contest Rules
- Videos must be recorded AT Camp for +2 points, or after Camp and submitted by Sunday June
19th, 22nd 2022 at midnight Pacific. (The ride back to PDX still counts as Camp, btw) - Videos must be between 2 and 5 minutes in length. (minus 1 point for each minute it goes longer than 5).
- Extra points for having some fun aspect of Camp showing (This is great practice for when you have sponsors or other people to help promote for)!
- You get 1 extra point for recording your video with another Camper or many Campers! Another point for collaborating with someone you never worked with before! And a point for shooting a video with a first-year Camper. (Just let us know if you’re working with someone new, or a 1st year Camper).
- You can submit as many videos as you like! Each video increases your chances of winning; however, they must be different videos (re-editing the same video only counts as 1 submission).
- You must mention Sex Geek Summer Camp, and SexGeekSummerCamp.com in the video (minus 1 point for missing either one of these).
- We’ll have a Shooting Video Clinic during Camp. You don’t need to attend the Clinic to enter the contest – this is for people who are new to Video or want to upgrade their Video skills.
- If you’re shy or feel awkward, you can interview someone about their experience and submit that. You can ask “What have you gotten out of Camp that you most value?” and you can ask people who’ve been to Camp before, how it impacted their careers and business. You don’t have to appear in the video, you can use the Camp Ducks to “talk about Camp”, or be inventive. Hide behind a tree! 🙂
- Extra points for Sponsors and their website being named and products showcased. Please only reference one Sponsor per video, since they will sometimes put them on their site and may promote them in social media. Include their name in the title for best recognition.
- As there is time, we can help you shoot your testimonial video. See Cathy or Camp Staff.
- Give Your Videos To Cathy on a jump drive During Camp, or Upload them and send the link After Camp. We’re not sure how the video uploading will go with a lot of people at the same time. Get your most reliable partner to upload these right after Camp. Or hand them to Cathy on a USB drive.
- If you upload them after Camp, send us an email with “Camp Video Contest” in the subject line to Cathy@TheIntimacyDojo.com with the link(s) to your Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok or Facebook posted video.
- The video must be public for us to review and access them.
- Contest Deadline: Videos must be uploaded by 11:59pm Pacific on Sunday June
19th27th along with emailed links.
And don’t forget to say who you are, and what your business is in your video! You deserve the recognition, too!
What Will Happen If I Submit a Video?
- As long as you give the video to Cathy or we can grab your video or link, it will be included on a webpage on ReidAboutSex.com and I will announce the contest with the link to that page to my list.
- I’ll favorite, like, or retweet your link if you post it and let me know. And I’ll make sure any sponsors mentioned are given a link to your video.
- I will choose 3 winning videos in a RANDOM DRAWING. (At least one award will be reserved for someone(s) who are relatively new to making video!). The more points you have and the more videos you submit, the better your chances of winning!
- I’m doing this because I don’t want to incentivize over-the-top testimonials. I want you to share from your heart, and help those who might be on the fence to make a great decision. Your sharing helps other people, and it helps you anchor your experiences and get out there on video. Plus you and your business get showcased on my site!
- Winners will be announced on 7/5.
The Prizes Are:
